Books purchased from the USC Sumter Bookstore are non-returnable unless documentation showing proof of withdrawal or class drop is provided before the university’s add/drop deadline (typically within 5 days after classes begin).
Refunds will only be given under the following conditions:
- The student officially dropped the course or withdrew from school
- The original receipt, Student ID, and drop slip are provided
- New books must be in mint condition
- Shrink wrap must remain unopened
- E-books and access codes must not be opened or used
- Books must not contain pen writing
Refunds will not be issued because:
- A student no longer wants the book
- The book was purchased elsewhere
- The student borrowed a book from another source
Books with markings or damage may only qualify for used book value.
Any book containing an access code may not be returned if:
- The shrink wrap has been opened
- The access code has been used
E-books and digital course materials are non-refundable once accessed or opened.
After the return/exchange deadline has passed:
- All textbook and course material sales are final
- No exceptions will be made
The following items are non-refundable and non-returnable:
- Graduation regalia once opened
- Graduation stoles
- Course access codes
- Diploma frames
- Batteries
- Hygiene products
- Calculators
- Dissection kits
- Goggles
- Dated merchandise
- Test materials (including blue books)
- Nursing kits
- Nursing checklists
Merchandise may be returned within two weeks of purchase with a receipt and must be in original condition.
Merchandise purchased after two weeks is non-returnable.
